Betty Jane Popp, 71, of Kendall died Thursday, April 12, 2012 at her home. She was born February 17, 1941 to Norville and Erna (Baller) Wildes at Hillsboro. Betty grew up on the Wildes Family Farm located between Kendall, and Elroy. She graduated from Royall High School in 1959. She was united in marriage to Raymond “Mike” Popp May 6, 1961 in Kendall. He preceded her in death on August 26, 1996. She worked as a Nursing Assistant for the Tomah VA, Heritage Manor and St. Joseph’s Hospital, she retired 2006. She enjoyed crocheting, making doilies, dolls, and blankets for her family. She had a quiet personality and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed the fall , especially the changing of colors. She also loved watching the birds and wild life, through her window, from the comfort of her home. She will sadly be missed by all that knew and loved her. She is survived by 2 sons Michael Jr. of Tomah and Chris (Jennifer Downing) of Norwalk, a daughter Shelly (Jamie Woodward) Popp of New Lisbon, 5 grandchildren Erik Popp, Dexter Popp, Kyle Woodward, Rachael Woodward, Madisyn Popp, 2 brothers Norville, Jr (Gloria ) Wildes of New Berlin and Michael Wildes of Sparta, a sister Darlene Van Hecker of Janesville, 2 brothers-in-law Donald (Pat) Popp of Harbor, IL, Jeff (Kathy) Popp of Footville and sister-in-law, Jackie (Steve) Kuehl of Tomah, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother-in-law Jerry Van Hecker

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2012, 2:00 P.M. at Smith-Nelson Funeral Home, Kendall. Father Richard Dickman will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Kendall. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home at 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service.
