Gregory George O’Neil, 51 of Tomah, died at his home on Tuesday, May 29, 2012. He was born on June 19, 1960 to George and Donna Mae (Dahl) O’Neil in Minneapolis, MN. He was a member of the Roosevelt High School graduating Class of 1979. On April 9, 1994 Greg was united in marriage to Amanda Griffin at the Brainerd Church of Christ. Greg grew up in Minneapolis, MN near Lake Nokomis. He attended truck driving school in Sun Prairie and has been on the road driving semi ever since. He was known to his fellow drivers as “Bojangles.” Greg currently was employed with River City Ready Mix. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters local #695. Greg loved life. He enjoyed spending time on Lake Mille Lacs, grilling, boating, spending time on the beach, fishing for Walleye or relaxing his old bones in his lawn chair. Greg was an auto enthusiast and loved working on his trucks. He had a special companionship with his dog Jake. Gregory was known to all his friends and family as a kindhearted, extremely generous and hardworking man who would do anything for anyone in need. Greg also loved his family very, very much. He is survived by 5 children, Dakotah of Tomah, Cheyenne of Black River Falls, Ashley Chinnock of Black River Falls, Angelica Chinnock of Tomah, and Jered (Nicole) Chinnock of Tomah, 5 grandchildren, Rylie, Emma, Gabriel, Gaige and Lilliann, his mother, Donna Mae O’Neil of Coon Rapids, MN, his grandma, Mary O’Neil, 3 sisters, Cheryl (Scott) Ryan of Maple Grove, MN, Christine (Tim) Brintnall of Prior Lake, MN, Cindy (Allen) Bartelt of Rosemount, MN, a special friend Amanda Griffin-Saunders of Black River Falls, many other nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, George Gregory O’Neil.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2012, 3:30 P.M. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau Street, Tomah. Pastor Loren Foster will officiate.
